Motherboard form factors determine the physical dimensions of your board, case compatibility, and expansion capabilities: 1) Standard ATX (305 x 244 mm): The most common size, featuring 4 RAM slots, multiple PCIe x16 and x1 slots, and up to 4 M.2 NVMe slots. Ideal for mid-tower and full-tower cases. 2) Micro-ATX / mATX (244 x 244 mm): Slightly shorter than ATX, offering 4 RAM slots and 2-3 PCIe slots. Micro-ATX motherboards represent the absolute best price-to-performance value for budget and mid-range builders. 3) Mini-ITX / SFF (170 x 170 mm): Ultra-compact square design with only 2 RAM slots and 1 PCIe x16 slot for the GPU. Requires high-density component engineering, making Mini-ITX motherboards slightly more expensive but perfect for portable small-form-factor builds.
